How to Put Your Daily Plan on iPhone Lock Screen
Eva can generate a lock screen wallpaper from your daily plan — your tasks, weather, calendar, quotes, and more, all visible every time you pick up your phone. No need to unlock or open any app.
You can also set it to auto-update every morning via iOS Shortcuts. Here's the full setup — takes about 2 minutes.
Your daily plan, right on your lock screen.
What's on the wallpaper
You choose which blocks to show. Available options:
- Today's tasks — grouped by morning, afternoon, evening
- Weekly calendar — a mini week view
- Weather — temperature and conditions
- Quote of the day
- Public holidays — for your country
- Countdowns — days until events you're tracking
- Habits — daily streaks
- Birthdays — from your contacts
All blocks can be toggled on/off, reordered by drag and drop, and styled with different fonts, colors, and backgrounds.
Step-by-step setup
Add your tasks for today
Open Eva and add a few tasks. The wallpaper is generated from your current day's plan — tasks, calendar events, whatever you've got scheduled.
Open Settings → Task Wallpaper
Go to the Settings tab and tap "Task Wallpaper". This opens the wallpaper editor with a live preview.
Set up your wallpaper
In the editor you can:
- Pick a background — photo from your gallery, gradient, or solid color
- Switch between light and dark text
- Toggle blocks on or off — tasks, weather, quotes, countdowns, habits
- Change font size and spacing
- Drag to reorder blocks however you like
The preview updates live as you make changes.

Save and set as wallpaper
Tap Save to export the wallpaper to your Photos. Then open Photos, find the image, tap Share → Use as Wallpaper, and set it for your lock screen.
Auto-update every morning
Since the wallpaper shows today's tasks, you'll want it to refresh daily. Eva includes a setup guide for this — it uses iOS Shortcuts to regenerate your wallpaper automatically.
- In the wallpaper editor, tap the setup guide icon
- It opens the "Set Task Wallpaper Eva" shortcut in the Shortcuts app — tap Add Shortcut
- Then create an automation to run it automatically
Tap "Add Shortcut" to install.
Option A: Run at a set time
Create a time-based automation (e.g. 7:00 AM). Every morning you wake up to a fresh wallpaper with today's plan, current weather, and a new quote.
Option B: Run when you close Eva
Set the automation trigger to "When App is closed" → Eva. Every time you finish editing tasks and leave the app, the wallpaper updates to match. This keeps your lock screen in sync with your actual plan throughout the day.
Here's how the automation trigger looks in Shortcuts:
Set trigger to "App", "Is Closed", "Run Immediately".
Select Eva from the app list.
You can use both triggers at once — morning for a fresh start, and "on close" to keep it updated as you check off tasks during the day.
Once set up, your lock screen refreshes on its own. No daily effort needed.
Tips
- Photo backgrounds look great — especially blurred landscapes or dark gradients
- Less is more — 3–4 blocks look cleaner than showing everything at once
- Use light text on dark backgrounds and vice versa for readability
- Turn on text shadows if your background photo has mixed contrast
"I especially like the 'what to wear' section — I don't need to think about it in the morning. It's an app made with love." — Dominick, App Store review
