How to Put Your Daily Plan on iPhone Lock Screen
What if every time you picked up your phone, you could see your entire day at a glance? Not notifications, not widgets — your actual tasks, weather, and calendar, beautifully laid out right on your lock screen wallpaper.
Eva's wallpaper generator does exactly that. It creates a wallpaper image from your daily plan, and you can even automate it so it updates every morning. Here's how to set it up in under 2 minutes.
Your daily plan, right on your lock screen.
What you'll see on your lock screen
Eva's wallpaper can include any combination of these blocks:
- Today's tasks — organized by morning, afternoon, evening
- Weekly calendar — see your week at a glance
- Weather — current temperature and conditions
- Motivational quote — changes daily
- Holidays — public holidays for your country
- Countdown — days until events you're tracking
- Habits — your daily streaks
- Birthdays — coming up from your contacts
Everything is customizable — toggle blocks on or off, reorder them, change fonts, colors, backgrounds.
Step-by-step setup
Open Eva and add some tasks
If you haven't already, create a few tasks for today. The wallpaper pulls from your current day's plan, so it works best when you've got your day mapped out.
Go to Settings → Wallpaper
Tap the Settings tab, then find "Task Wallpaper" in the Customization section. This opens the canvas editor with a live preview of your wallpaper.
Customize your wallpaper
This is where it gets fun. You can:
- Choose a background — photo from your gallery, gradient, or solid color
- Pick light or dark text
- Toggle which blocks to show (tasks, weather, quotes, countdowns...)
- Adjust font size and spacing
- Drag to reorder blocks
The preview updates in real-time as you make changes.

Save and apply
Tap Save — the wallpaper is saved to your Photos. Then go to iOS Settings → Wallpaper → Add New Wallpaper and pick the image you just saved. Set it for your lock screen.
Bonus: auto-update your wallpaper
The wallpaper shows today's tasks, so ideally you want it to refresh automatically. Eva has a built-in setup guide for this:
- In the wallpaper editor, tap the setup guide icon
- It walks you through adding an iOS Shortcut called "Set Task Wallpaper Eva"
- Set up an automation trigger — you have two great options:
The "Set Task Wallpaper Eva" shortcut — tap Add Shortcut to install.
Option A: Every morning
Set the shortcut to run at a specific time (e.g. 7:00 AM). You wake up, and your lock screen already shows today's plan, fresh weather, and a new quote.
Option B: Every time you close Eva (recommended)
Set the trigger to "When Eva is closed". This way, every time you add or complete a task and leave the app, your lock screen updates immediately. Your wallpaper always reflects the latest state of your day — not a snapshot from this morning.
Here's how to set it up in the Shortcuts app:
Choose "App" trigger, select "Is Closed" and "Run Immediately".
Select Eva from the app list.
Pro tip: use both triggers together. Morning trigger gives you a fresh wallpaper when you wake up, and the "on close" trigger keeps it in sync throughout the day as you check off tasks.
After the initial 2-minute setup, your lock screen updates itself forever. Zero effort.
Tips for the best-looking wallpaper
- Use a photo background — a blurred landscape or gradient photo makes tasks pop
- Keep it minimal — 3-4 blocks look cleaner than showing everything
- Dark text on light backgrounds, light text on dark — sounds obvious, but the readability difference is huge
- Enable text shadows — helps with photo backgrounds where contrast varies
"I especially like the 'what to wear' section — I don't need to think about it in the morning. It's an app made with love." — Dominick, App Store review
